I went to Montreal for a 3 day trip just before Christmas of 2012. I would let the pictures say it all.

Spring is here

July 14th, 2012 Permalink

This past weekend the sun was out with its full strength, the temperature was moderate and there was a nice cold breeze, giving me a perfect reason to be out in the sun. And, when you are out in such a great spring weather one should not forget their camera. As spring arrives, the trees start budding, fresh grass rises up and along with them comes alive the weeds called Dandelions. I hope you enjoy this spring season.

In a Legolaxy, far far away

“This is a story about a far far galaxy in the Lego universe”

On one rainy weekend, I decided to shoot indoors and was playing with different ideas when my star wars Lego collection caught my attention. Lot of Lego photo shoots have been done and I thought of adding a twist to it. Instead of clicking the blocks, I created a storyboard and came out with this series. It is quickly done storyboarding with photo shoot but I hope you enjoy it.

Toronto Auto Show

March 9th, 2011 Permalink

I happened to have the chance to visit the Toronto auto show last week. When I was in India I used to visit the AutoExpo that is held every two years. So, I had an idea what to expect from the one here in Toronto. But, there one evident difference – The Crowd. The crowd was much less which gave you ample time to check out the vehicles, sit inside, feel them and, of course, click some shots. I personally feel that the shooting conditions are not ideal in an auto show because there are always people checking out the cars, especially the beautiful ones, the lighting consists of so many spotlights creating numerous glares and unwanted reflections on the surface of the vehicles. Also, the spot light illuminates a certain part heavily while keeping the other parts dark. Getting a uniform lighting, and hence a good exposure is challenging. But, then it gives an artistic feeling to the vehicles rather than a “product ad” kind of effect.

Port Credit, Ontario

February 19th, 2011 Permalink

On a chilly winter day I set out to with my Nikon D90 in search of some shots. It was very chilly and I planned to just remain in my car and shoot as I drive around the countryside. Soon, I realised it was not easy for me to keep sitting inside the car on the snowy roads with occasional traffic passing by. Traffic needs quite good room while traveling on unpaved snowy roads in the countryside. So, I kept moving. After an hour of roaming around I decided to head back to the city. I just kept driving wherever my eyes told me. Suddenly, I realised I was near Port Credit on the Ontario Lake. And, that was the moment it flashed in my mind that I can get some good shots there. So, I reached there and started clicking. Clicked quite a few shots before the chilly wind from Lake Ontario literally made my run back to my car. By the time I got back to the car my hands were completely numb but had the satisfaction in my heart to seize that shooting opportunity.
